Google Adwords Pay Off (for Google)!
We know that Google is popular. In our pop culture, we often hear and say, “Hey I’m going to ‘Google’ that.” When was the last time you heard someone say, “Hey, I’m going to ‘Bing’ that.” No offense, Bing, “Just Sayin.”
It is not often that I get an urge to “get up and go” and make a difference in the world at the time that I’m about to lay my pretty little head down to sleep for the night. But, I read a post that does just that. It puts a spring in my step, hope in my eyes, and whispers, “Your viral dreams really COULD come true.”
That post is one by Gail Gardner, at Growmap.com, entitled Viral Marketing: Using Viral Social Media to Create Viral Content.
In her article, Ms. Gardner actually talks about ways in which YOU can make a difference and help your video, or post, or picture, or any content, to go viral. She points out real-life YouTube examples and talks about WHY those particular YouTube videos went viral. This gives everyone hope on how they can do it themselves, and also, helps to dispel the idea that it “just happens.” Oh, yes, Ms. Gardner talks about that as well.
How To Go Viral According to YouTube
One of the videos that Ms. Gardner shows is the following YouTube by Kevin Allocca, YouTube’s “Trends Manager.” Now, working for YouTube, and having access to THAT data, should make you, uh, a little knowledgeable in that area, right? Watch the video, first, then read on (please ;) ).
Today, Thursday, one of my biggest Twitter Chat days and Twitter goes down and goes down HARD. What to do with a Twitter Outage?! It was bad enough that Amazon went down about 8-9 hours ago in the middle of an order, but now a Twitter outage? What’s a girl to do?
So, I decided to come up with a list of items to do when you have a Twitter Outage. Ready?
Create That New Look
Admit it. YOu’ve been looking for that new “look,” right? Why not pull out the nail polish, the wild lip color and those curlers that have been gathering dust and re-make yourself? Seriously though, is it time to tweak your blog, too? Everyone will be too busy checking Twitter and reloading their browsers, hoping that Twitter will magically reappear. They won’t even notice that you are adding and tweaking plugins on your blog, will they? Seize the moment.
According to a recent study, social media is set to explode in 2013 and demand for social media jobs is set to skyrocket. Which social network will rule the roost in the coming year and beyond? We don’t know the answer to this question, but we do know which resources keep us in the loop and keep us abreast of the many changes in this exciting and multi-faceted field.
Below we highlight and link to four Facebook resources that we highly recommend you follow as well, if social media is a topic near and dear to your heart.
1. Hub Spot
Although Hub Spot is a service company they have a great internet marketing blog with an equally good social media section. They are also on Facebook with a fan page that boasts an impressive 179,000 likes and close to 3,500 fans. This is a good Facebook follow if you seek good kernels and morsels of information on social media and internet marketing in general. Looking at their Facebook page (today) you will find the following: “How do Spotify, Instagram, and Zynga use effective calls-to-action to grab attention?” and “How to Engage Facebook Fans With Images”. Hub Spot is a great resource to keep up with the various social networks on the web and they also have a series of free ebooks available on social media.
